The Barbell 13 Story

Barbell 13 was never part of the plan.

We’re Dale and Nadia Roberts—a husband and wife team who spent years training in local gyms, learning, growing, and putting in the work just like everyone else. Truthfully, we never set out to open our own gym. But over time, we felt God calling on us to do something better.

As we trained, we began to notice something missing. Too many gyms were built around the owners—their image, their aesthetics—rather than the people walking through the doors every day. The clients. The community. The ones doing the work.

So we decided to build something different. Barbell 13 was created with people at the center. A place where you’re seen, supported, and pushed to become your best—not just physically, but mentally and personally too.

The name “13” isn’t random to us. It’s personal. We met on the 13th, and we were married on the 13th. It represents the foundation of everything we’ve built together—love, commitment, and purpose. That’s why we lead with those same values in our gym: love first, always.

As owners, coaches, and members of this community, we’re not above it—we’re in it with you. Every rep, every challenge, every breakthrough.

Barbell 13 isn’t just a gym. It’s a place built on faith, fueled by love, and driven by people who refuse to settle.
